It works by blocking a certain natural substance (histamine) that your body makes during an allergic reaction. | Ampicillin is a prescription penicillin-type antibiotic used to treat many different types of infections caused by bacteria, such as ear infections, bladder infections, pneumonia, gonorrhea, and E. coli or salmonella infection. | Amoxicillin/clavulanic acid is a combination penicillin-type antibiotics used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections.
